Hold on to your hats people. This is going to be one interesting blog post.
Last summer we had a squirrel become King of our backyard. We named him Nuts. (We are clever people. Did you know that?) He owned our willow tree, diving and leaping through the branches. He would tight-rope walk across our clothes line occasionally stopping to check out and nibble on whatever swimming towel would be drying there. He would get all in a huff if we came in the backyard while he was having an afternoon stroll, chirping and jumping at us. He was the master of the backyard and he was going to let you know about it.
Well, his reign has unfortunately ended this summer.
Meet the new King of the backyard. Apparently he is a Peregrine Falcon, right mom? We call him Muscles. He moved in. He flexed. And like any king, he disposed of the previous one. (RIP Nuts) He now uses our willow tree as his breakfast nook, leaving feather, fur and bones as a mark of his power.
He angrily squawked, perched on his throne, at Cam when we were pruning dead branches from the willow tree. He is the new master of the backyard.
It sure has been a lot quieter since he moved in.

whoa! That is kind of scary, even for me. I can't imagine the fear and the high pitch little screams you are making every time he makes eye contact with you. Its like your worst nightmare.. A rat with wings on steroids with attitude!
