i’m not really a resolutions person. i can’t seem to stick with it.
not that i don’t love a good list. because i do.
and what better list is there to make than one that involves diving into your head and trying to de-clutter?
because we all know i love to organize too.
and quite often my brain is what needs organizing most. i tend to let things fall where they may and close the virtual door while brushing my hands clean of the memory, responsibility, task.
i mean, what better defense mechanism is there than denial, right?
so. here’s what i’ll commit to on paper. or virtual paper, that is.
- Eat less cake.
i can’t help it. i love boxed cake. and homemade frosting. even thinking about it is making me drool. and since 2010 began, i have eaten almost 2 pans of cake by myself. if you don’t count the scrap pieces i allowed my kids to have. and by scrap pieces i mean my crumbs that fell on the floor. maybe i should change my resolution to ‘leave no crumb behind’. that sounds way more realistic.
- Eat breakfast together as a family
i’m not a morning person. but i feel much better when i get up and get moving then when i resist the morning sun. also, i don’t really like breakfast. i mean, i love breakfast food, just not at 7 am. and, cam is a workaholic. so, the only time we really get his undivided and energetic attention is in the chipper hours of the morning before he takes off for the day. it will be a good way to start the day. all together.
- Read the news
We have not had tv at our place for almost 7 months now. and i actually like it. it’s not that i don’t miss tv. because, lets face it, tv is awesome. but it has made more us creative with our time. but, i have lost a grip on what is happening in the world. and i kind of like knowing what’s going on.
- Be less politically correct
really. this one just popped into my head. there is no pre-meditation surrounding it. and it was inspired by human rights day, which was once referred to as Martin Luther King Jr day. And, i have to know, why did they have to change it? honestly. so. i am declaring myself politically incorrect and from now on calling holidays and other such things whatever i want.
and there you have it. my lofty personal 2010 resolutions.
(i’m not sure i can keep the first one. it’s causing me some anxiety.)

Such lofty goals. The cake one. I just don't know er, it just doesn't seem rational! And the PC one made me laugh. I'm going to try that out too since I already am!
well your more informed then me bc I didnt even know they changed it to human rights day.. which btw, really annoys me..like bad..why do "they" keep doing that??!! seriously bugged.
whatever you do, DO NOT eat LESS Cake! Just bring some over and share it with me. I too am a lover of boxed cakes and homemade butter cream frosting. YUMMY!
